2024 Chevrolet Corvette

Safety

The MC20 Cielo has a standard Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Corvette only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

Both the MC20 and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The MC20 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Reliability

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the MC20 has an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

Engine

The MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 131 more horsepower (621 vs. 490) and 73 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 465) than the Corvette’s standard 6.2 V8. The MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 126 more horsepower (621 vs. 495) and 68 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8. The MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 538 lbs.-ft. than the Corvette E-Ray’s standard 6.2 V8 hybrid. The MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 78 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 460) than the Corvette Z06’s standard 5.5 DOHC V8.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the MC20 gets better mileage than the Corvette:

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Maserati MC20 higher (5 out of 10) than the Chevrolet Corvette (3 to 5). This means the MC20 produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Corvette every 15,000 miles.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the MC20’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the Corvette:

Rear Rotors

13.8 inches

13.3 inches

The MC20 stops shorter than the Corvette:

Car and Driver

Tires and Wheels

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the MC20 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch front wheels are standard on the Corvette.

Ergonomics

The MC20’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Corvette.

If the windows are left open on the MC20 the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Corvette can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The MC20’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati MC20 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Corvette.
