2024 Maserati Levante
2024 Ferrari Purosangue

Safety

The Levante has a standard Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Purosangue only offers a rear monitor.

Both the Levante and the Purosangue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available crash mitigating brakes and lane departure warning systems.

The Maserati Levante weighs 512 to 588 pounds more than the Ferrari Purosangue. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

The Levante comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Purosangue’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The Levante’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Purosangue’s (4 vs. 3 years).

There are almost 3 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Levante’s warranty.

Reliability

The Purosangue’s redline is at 8250 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Levante has a 6500 to 7200 RPM redline.

Engine

The Levante Modena S’ standard 3.8 turbo V8 produces 10 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 528) than the Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12. The Levante Trofeo’s standard 3.8 turbo V8 produces 10 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 528) than the Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Levante gets better mileage than the Purosangue:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Levante has larger standard tires than the Purosangue (265/45R20 vs. 255/35R22). The Levante Modena/S’ front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Purosangue (265/45R20 vs. 255/35R22).

Suspension and Handling

The front and rear suspension of the Levante uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Purosangue, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

Chassis

The front grille of the Levante uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Purosangue doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The Levante has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Purosangue can only carry 4.

The Levante has 11 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Purosangue (108 vs. 97).

Cargo Capacity

The Levante has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Purosangue (20.5 vs. 16.7 cubic feet).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Levante’s liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Ergonomics

The Levante has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Levante’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Purosangue’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Levante to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Purosangue doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Levante has a standard rear wiper. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Levante has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Purosangue.
