Compare the2026 McLaren 750SVS 2025 Porsche 718 Boxster

The 750S offers an optional 360 Degree Park Assist to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 718 Boxster only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the 750S and the 718 Boxster have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The 750S comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 718 Boxster’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the 750S for 2 years and unlimited miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the 718 Boxster (3/unlimited vs. 1/10,000).

The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 440 more horsepower (740 vs. 300) and 310 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 280) than the 718 Boxster’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 390 more horsepower (740 vs. 350) and 281 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 309) than the 718 Boxster S’ standard 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder. The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 346 more horsepower (740 vs. 394) and 281 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 309) than the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0’s standard 4.0 GT3 6-cylinder. On the EPA test cycle the 750S gets better fuel mileage than the 718 Spyder RS 4.0 DOHC flat-6 7-speed SMG (15 city/19 hwy vs. 14 city/19 hwy).

The 750S has 4.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the 718 Boxster’s standard fuel tank (19 vs. 14.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The 750S has 2.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the 718 Boxster’s optional fuel tank (19 vs. 16.9 gallons).

The 750S has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 718 Boxster doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The McLaren 750S comes standard with an automatic transmission, for driver comfort, especially in the city. Automatic costs extra on the 718 Boxster.

For better stopping power the 750S’ standard brake rotors are larger than those on the 718 Boxster:

The 750S has standard air brakes, which adjust the Spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The 718 Boxster doesn’t offer air brakes.

For better traction, the 750S has larger tires than the 718 Boxster (F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20 vs. F:235/45R18 & R:265/45R18).

The 750S’ 245/35R19 front and 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 718 Boxster’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the 750S has standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the 718 Boxster.

The 750S has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The 718 Boxster doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 750S offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Porsche doesn’t offer an active suspension on the 718 Boxster.

The 750S has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 718 Boxster doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the 750S’ wheelbase is 7.7 inches longer than on the 718 Boxster (105.1 inches vs. 97.4 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the 750S is 6.1 inches wider in the front and 3.7 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 718 Boxster.

The 750S is 9.3 inches shorter in height than the 718 Boxster, making the 750S much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The 750S’ standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The 718 Boxster doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

With its coupe body style and remote trunk release lockout, the 750S offers cargo security. The 718 Boxster’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

If the windows are left open on the 750S the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the 718 Boxster can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The 750S has standard Keyless Entry and Start that allows you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Porsche Entry and Drive costs extra on the 718 Boxster.

The 750S’ LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the 718 Boxster’s standard xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

The McLaren 750S has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors costs extra on the 718 Boxster.
