The 750S offers an optional 360 Degree Park Assist to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Mustang GTD only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

Both the 750S and the Mustang GTD have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The 750S comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Mustang GTD’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The 750S’ corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the Mustang GTD’s (10 vs. 5 years).

McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the 750S for 3 years and unlimited miles. McLaren will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Ford doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Mustang GTD.

As tested in Car and Driver the McLaren 750S is faster than the Ford Mustang GTD:

On the EPA test cycle the 750S gets better fuel mileage than the Mustang GTD (15 city/19 hwy vs. 10 city/17 hwy).

The 750S has 3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Mustang GTD (19 vs. 16 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The 750S has a standard locking fuel door which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the Mustang GTD. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The 750S has standard air brakes, which adjust the Spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The Mustang GTD doesn’t offer air brakes.

The 750S has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Mustang GTD doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 750S offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Ford doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Mustang GTD.

The McLaren 750S may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1150 to 1300 pounds less than the Ford Mustang GTD.

The 750S is 1 foot, 1.7 inches shorter than the Mustang GTD, making the 750S easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 750S is 5.8 inches narrower than the Mustang GTD, making the 750S easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The 750S is 15.5 inches shorter in height than the Mustang GTD, making the 750S much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The 750S’ standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Mustang GTD doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

With its coupe body style and remote trunk release lockout, the 750S offers cargo security. The Mustang GTD’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

When two different drivers share the 750S, the optional memory system makes it convenient for both. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle. The Mustang GTD doesn’t offer a memory system.

If the windows are left open on the 750S the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Mustang GTD can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The 750S’ standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. The Mustang GTD doesn’t offer heated side mirrors.

When the 750S is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Mustang GTD’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

Both the McLaren 750S and Ford Mustang GTD offer exterior mirrors that can be folded to provide convenience. The 750S features standard power folding mirrors, which allow for easy, one-touch folding or unfolding at the driver’s discretion. This provides added convenience when maneuvering or parking, as well as when walking past the parked vehicle. In comparison, the Mustang GTD’s foldable mirrors are manual, requiring the driver to get out and physically fold them once parked and unfold them before getting in.

The 750S offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the Mustang GTD.

The McLaren 750S comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Ford Mustang GTD isn’t available as a convertible.
