Compare the2024 McLaren 750SVS 2024 Maserati MC20

2024 McLaren 750S
2024 Maserati MC20

Safety

The McLaren 750S has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The MC20 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the 750S and the MC20 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

Warranty

The 750S comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The MC20’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The 750S’ corrosion warranty is 6 years and unlimited miles longer than the MC20’s (10/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the 750S for 3 years and unlimited miles. McLaren will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the MC20.

Engine

The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 119 more horsepower (740 vs. 621) and 52 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 538) than the MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6.

Fuel Economy and Range

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the 750S’ engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The MC20 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The 750S has 3.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the MC20 (19 vs. 15.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the 750S’ standard brake rotors are larger than those on the MC20:

750S

MC20

Front Rotors

15.4 inches

15 inches

Rear Rotors

15 inches

13.8 inches

The 750S has standard air brakes, which adjust the Spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The MC20 doesn’t offer air brakes.

Suspension and Handling

The 750S has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The MC20 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

Chassis

The McLaren 750S may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 450 pounds less than the Maserati MC20.

The 750S is 3.9 inches shorter than the MC20, making the 750S easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The 750S has a much larger trunk than the MC20 Coupe (12.7 vs. 5.3 cubic feet).

The 750S Spider has a much larger trunk with its top down than the MC20 Cielo (7.3 vs. 5.3 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

The 750S’ standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The MC20’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

When the 750S is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The MC20’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.
