Compare the2024 McLaren 750SVS 2024 Lexus RC F

2024 McLaren 750S
2024 Lexus RC F

Safety

The 750S offers an optional 360 Degree Park Assist to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The RC F only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the 750S and the RC F have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and rearview cameras.

Warranty

The 750S comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The RC F’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The 750S’ corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the RC F’s (10 vs. 6 years).

McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the 750S for 2 years and unlimited miles longer than Lexus pays for maintenance for the RC F (3/unlimited vs. 1/10,000).

Engine

The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 268 more horsepower (740 vs. 472) and 195 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 395) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8.

Fuel Economy and Range

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the 750S’ engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The RC F doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The 750S has 1.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the RC F (19 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Transmission

The 750S offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The RC F doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the 750S’ brake rotors are larger than those on the RC F:

750S

RC F

Front Rotors

15.4 inches

15 inches

Rear Rotors

15 inches

13.6 inches

Opt Rear Rotors

14.9 inches

The 750S has standard air brakes, which adjust the Spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The RC F doesn’t offer air brakes.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the 750S has larger tires than the RC F (F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20 vs. F:235/35R19 & R:275/35R19).

The 750S’ 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RC F’s standard 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the 750S has standard 20-inch rear wheels. Only 19-inch wheels are available on the RC F.

Suspension and Handling

The 750S has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The RC F doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the 750S is 4.9 inches wider in the front and 2.7 inches wider in the rear than on the RC F.

Chassis

The McLaren 750S may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 700 to 750 pounds less than the Lexus RC F.

The 750S is 5.5 inches shorter than the RC F, making the 750S easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 750S is 7.6 inches shorter in height than the RC F, making the 750S much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The 750S’ standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The RC F doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

Cargo Capacity

The 750S has a much larger trunk than the RC F (12.7 vs. 9.9 cubic feet).

Model Availability

The McLaren 750S comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Lexus RC F isn’t available as a convertible.
