Compare the2024 McLaren 750SVS 2024 Jaguar F-Type

2024 McLaren 750S
2024 Jaguar F-Type

Safety

The McLaren 750S has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The F-Type doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The 750S offers an optional 360 Degree Park Assist to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The F-Type only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the 750S and the F-Type have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and rearview cameras.

Warranty

The 750S comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The F-Type’s 60,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The 750S’ corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the F-Type’s (10 vs. 6 years).

Engine

The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 296 more horsepower (740 vs. 444) and 162 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 428) than the F-Type P450’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8. The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 165 more horsepower (740 vs. 575) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 516) than the F-Type R75’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8.

Transmission

The 750S offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The F-Type doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the 750S’ brake rotors are larger than those on the F-Type:

750S

F-Type

Front Rotors

15.4 inches

15 inches

Rear Rotors

15 inches

14.8 inches

The 750S has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The F-Type doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The 750S has standard air brakes, which adjust the Spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The F-Type doesn’t offer air brakes.

Suspension and Handling

The 750S has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The F-Type doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the 750S’ wheelbase is 1.9 inches longer than on the F-Type (105.1 inches vs. 103.2 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the 750S is 3.7 inches wider in the front than on the F-Type.

Chassis

The McLaren 750S may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 700 to 800 pounds less than the Jaguar F-Type.

The 750S’ standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The F-Type doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

Ergonomics

In case of a sudden change of weather, the 750S Spider has a standard remote convertible top that can be raised from a distance to protect the interior of the vehicle from damage. On a hot day the 750S Spider has a standard remote opening feature, to lower the top from outside. The F-Type doesn’t offer a remote top, so the driver will have to run to the car, get in, turn the ignition on and raise the top to prevent the interior from being damaged.

With standard voice command, the 750S offers the driver hands free control of the radio and the navigation computer by simply speaking. The F-Type doesn’t offer a voice control system.
