2024 Aston Martin DBS

Safety

The McLaren 750S has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The DBS doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the 750S and the DBS have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

Warranty

McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the 750S for 3 years and unlimited miles. McLaren will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DBS.

Engine

The 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 25 more horsepower (740 vs. 715) than the DBS’ standard 5.2 turbo V12.

Transmission

The 750S offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DBS doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The 750S’ launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The DBS doesn’t offer launch control.

Brakes and Stopping

The 750S has standard air brakes, which adjust the Spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The DBS doesn’t offer air brakes.

Suspension and Handling

The 750S has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The DBS doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

Chassis

The McLaren 750S may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1000 to 1100 pounds less than the Aston Martin DBS.

The 750S is 5.6 inches shorter than the DBS, making the 750S easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The 750S is 5.7 inches shorter than the DBS 770 Ultimate Edition.

The 750S’ standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The DBS doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

Cargo Capacity

The 750S has a much larger trunk than the DBS Coupe (12.7 vs. 9.5 cubic feet).
