The Artura’s optional lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The DB11 doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

Both the Artura and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

The Artura comes with a full 5-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The DB11’s 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty expires 2 years sooner.

McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the Artura for 3 years and 27000 miles. McLaren will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 3 visits). Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB11.

The Artura’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid produces 143 more horsepower (671 vs. 528) and 18 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Artura’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid produces 41 more horsepower (671 vs. 630) and 15 lbs.-ft. more torque (531 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.

On the EPA test cycle the Artura running its gasoline engine gets better fuel mileage than the DB11 V12 (17 city/21 hwy vs. 14 city/22 hwy).

The Artura can travel with zero emissions for 11 miles. The DB11 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Artura’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The DB11 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Artura has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DB11 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the McLaren Artura higher (6 out of 10) than the Aston Martin DB11 (3 to 5). This means the Artura produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the DB11 every 15,000 miles.

The Artura offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Artura has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Artura’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front tires.

The Artura has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The DB11 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The Artura handles at 1.08 G’s, while the DB11 pulls only .94 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The McLaren Artura may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 to 800 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.

The Artura is 8.3 inches shorter than the DB11, making the Artura easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

With its coupe body style and remote trunk release lockout, the Artura offers cargo security. The DB11’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Artura detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DB11 doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Artura offers an optional Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The DB11 doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
