Compare the2024 Lamborghini Urus VS 2023 Porsche Cayenne

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Urus’ optional Rear Cross-Traffic Assist uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side and Automatic Brake Activation automatically engages the brakes to help avoid a collision. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

Both the Urus and the Cayenne have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, rearview cameras, available night vision systems, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Cayenne’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance (up to 5 visits) on the Urus for 4 years and 65000 miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the Cayenne (5/75000 vs. 1/10,000).

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 322 more horsepower (657 vs. 335) and 295 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 332) than the Cayenne’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 223 more horsepower (657 vs. 434) and 222 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 405) than the Cayenne S’ standard 2.9 turbo V6. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 204 more horsepower (657 vs. 453) and 170 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 457) than the Cayenne GTS’ standard 4.0 turbo V8.

As tested in Motor Trend the Lamborghini Urus is faster than the Porsche Cayenne turbo V6:

In a Car and Driver race course test, the Lamborghini Urus was clocked 3.4 seconds faster than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo (175.8 sec. vs. 179.2 sec.).

The Urus has 2.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Cayenne E-Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (22.5 vs. 19.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the Cayenne:

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the Cayenne (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. F:255/55R19 & R:275/50R19).

The Urus’ standard 285/45R21 front and 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Cayenne’s standard 55 series front and 50 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Cayenne. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the Cayenne.

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Cayenne, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus S’ wheelbase is 4.2 inches longer than on the Cayenne (118.2 inches vs. 114 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Urus is .8 inches wider in the front and 1.7 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Cayenne.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.04 G’s, while the Cayenne pulls only .94 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.3 seconds quicker than the Cayenne E-Hybrid (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 25.4 seconds @ .78 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Cayenne (8.4 vs. 8.2 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Urus’ minimum ground clearance is .2 inch higher than on the Cayenne Air Suspension (9.8 vs. 9.6 inches).

The Urus has 1.9 inches more front headroom and .5 inches more front legroom than the Cayenne.
