Safety

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Urus are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The BMW X6 M doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The X6 M doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Urus and X6 M offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the Urus with Rear Cross-Traffic Assist also has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The X6 M’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Urus and the X6 M have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, rearview cameras, available lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

Warranty

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The X6 M’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance (up to 5 visits) on the Urus for 2 years and 39000 miles longer than BMW pays for maintenance for the X6 M (5/75000 vs. 3/36,000).

Engine

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 40 more horsepower (657 vs. 617) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 553) than the X6 M’s 4.4 turbo V8 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Urus gets better fuel mileage than the X6 M (14 city/19 hwy vs. 13 city/18 hwy).

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Urus’ front brake rotors are larger than those on the X6 M:

15.6 inches

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The X6 M doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus offers optional 23-inch wheels. The X6 M’s largest wheels are only 21-inches in the front and 22-inches in the rear.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus S’ wheelbase is 1.2 inches longer than on the X6 M (118.2 inches vs. 117 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 3.3 feet tighter than the X6 M’s (38.7 feet vs. 42 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a 1.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the X6 M (9.8 vs. 8.4 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The Lamborghini Urus may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 650 pounds less than the BMW X6 M.

Passenger Space

The Urus has 1.6 inches more front headroom, 1.2 inches more front legroom, .5 inches more rear headroom and 4.3 inches more rear legroom than the X6 M.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Urus’ available rear seats recline. The X6 M’s rear seats don’t recline.

Cargo Capacity

The Urus’ liftgate lifts up in one piece, completely out of the way of loading and unloading, while sheltering the cargo loading area. The X6 M’s tailgate’s top part raises up, but the bottom part lowers, getting in the way of loading and making an uneven surface for sliding cargo.

Towing

The Urus has a 7716 lbs. towing capacity. The X6 M has no towing capacity.

Ergonomics

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Urus offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The X6 M doesn’t offer headlight washers.
