For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Urus are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The BMW X6 doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The X6 doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Urus and X6 offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the Urus with Rear Cross-Traffic Assist also has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The X6’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The X6’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance (up to 5 visits) on the Urus for 2 years and 39000 miles longer than BMW pays for maintenance for the X6 (5/75000 vs. 3/36,000).

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 282 more horsepower (657 vs. 375) and 229 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 398) than the X6 xDrive40i’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 134 more horsepower (657 vs. 523) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 553) than the X6 M60i xDrive’s standard 4.4 turbo V8 hybrid.

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The X6 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the X6 (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. 275/45R20). The Urus’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the X6 (F:285/35R23 & R:325/30R23 vs. F:275/40R21 & R:315/35R21).

The Urus’ standard 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the X6’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the X6. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the X6.

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the X6, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus S’ wheelbase is 1.1 inches longer than on the X6 (118.2 inches vs. 117.1 inches).

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Urus’ available rear seats recline. The X6’s rear seats don’t recline.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Urus offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The X6 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
