2024 Lamborghini Urus
2023 Bentley Bentayga

Safety

The Lamborghini Urus has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Bentayga doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the Urus and the Bentayga have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, rearview cameras, available night vision systems, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Urus for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Bentley doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Bentayga.

Engine

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 214 more horsepower (657 vs. 443) and 111 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 516) than the Bentayga Hybrid’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 115 more horsepower (657 vs. 542) and 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 568) than the Bentayga’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 31 more horsepower (657 vs. 626) than the Bentayga SPEED’s standard 6.0 turbo 12-cylinder.

As tested in Car and Driver the Lamborghini Urus is faster than the Bentley Bentayga turbo V8:

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Urus gets better fuel mileage than the Bentayga SPEED running its gasoline engine (14 city/19 hwy vs. 12 city/19 hwy).

The Urus has 2.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Bentayga Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (22.5 vs. 19.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Urus’ front brake rotors are larger than those on the Bentayga:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Urus has larger standard rear tires than the Bentayga (315/40R21 vs. 285/45R21). The Urus’ optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Bentayga (325/30R23 vs. 285/45R21).

The Urus’ standard 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Bentayga’s standard 45 series tires. The Urus’ optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Bentayga’s optional 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus offers optional 23-inch wheels. The Bentayga’s largest wheels are only 22-inches.

Suspension and Handling

The Urus Performante handles at 1.04 G’s, while the Bentayga pulls only .78 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.5 seconds quicker than the Bentayga (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 25.6 seconds @ .74 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Bentayga (9.8 vs. 9.7 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The Lamborghini Urus may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 to 1000 pounds less than the Bentley Bentayga.

Cargo Capacity

The Urus has a much larger cargo volume than the Bentayga with its rear seat up (21.8 vs. 7.5 cubic feet).

The Urus’ standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Bentayga w/Four Seat Comfort Specification doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

Towing

The Urus’ standard towing capacity is much higher than the Bentayga’s (7716 vs. 7165 pounds).

Ergonomics

The Urus’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Bentayga’s automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park and it doesn’t offer remote control parking.

Recommendations

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its November 2019 issue and they ranked the Lamborghini Urus first. They ranked the Bentley Bentayga SPEED third.

The Lamborghini Urus outsold the Bentley Bentayga by 10% during 2023.
