Safety

The Lamborghini Huracán has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The 812 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Huracán offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The 812 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Huracán and the 812 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and available rear parking sensors.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Huracán Spyder gets better mileage than the 812 GTS:

MPG

Huracán Spyder

RWD

5.2 DOHC V10

13 city/18 hwy

AWD

Evo 5.2 DOHC V10

13 city/18 hwy

812 GTS

RWD

6.5 DOHC V12

12 city/16 hwy

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Huracán’s fuel efficiency. The 812 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

Drivetrain

All wheel drive, available in the Huracán, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Ferrari 812 is not available with all wheel drive.

Tires and Wheels

The Huracán Technica/STO’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 812’s 35 series tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Huracán can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The 812 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Huracán’s turning circle is 3.4 feet tighter than the 812’s (37.7 feet vs. 41.1 feet).

Chassis

The Lamborghini Huracán may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 700 pounds less than the Ferrari 812.

Ergonomics

The Huracán’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The 812’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

Model Availability

The Lamborghini Huracán comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Ferrari 812 isn’t available as a coupe.
