The Lamborghini Huracán has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The 296 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Huracán has standard tall side airbags which act as a forgiving barrier between the driver and outboard passenger's upper bodies and the window and pillars. Combined with high-strength steel door beams and lower side airbags this system increases head protection in broadside collisions. The 296 doesn't offer side airbag protection for the head.

The Huracán offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The 296 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Huracán offers optional parking sensors to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The 296 doesn’t offer a front parking aid.

Both the Huracán and the 296 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Huracán’s fuel efficiency. The 296 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Huracán has 3.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the 296 (21.1 vs. 17.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Huracán has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 296 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

All wheel drive, available in the Huracán, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Ferrari 296 is not available with all wheel drive.

The Huracán Technica/STO’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 296’s 35 series tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Huracán can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The 296 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Huracán Technica Coupe’s wheelbase is .7 inches longer than on the 296 (103.1 inches vs. 102.4 inches). The Huracán Sterrato’s wheelbase is 1.1 inches longer than on the 296 (103.5 inches vs. 102.4 inches).

The Lamborghini Huracán may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 300 pounds less than the Ferrari 296.

The Huracán’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The 296’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Huracán has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The 296 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Huracán’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The 296’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

The Huracán offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the 296.

The Huracán’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The 296 doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
